Update required

When the Nectenda plugin is too old for the server, syncing pauses until you update it. Your notes are kept on your device throughout.

Now and then the server stops accepting a very old version of the plugin. When that happens, syncing pauses on that device until it is updated. Nothing is lost: your edits stay on the device and are sent once you update.

Before you start

  • You will see the Nectenda icon in the note header in red, reading Update the plugin to keep syncing, and a notice saying the same.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and choose Community plugins.
  2. Choose Check for updates.
  3. Choose Update beside Nectenda. Or choose Update all.

Check the result

Syncing resumes on its own within a minute or so of the update. The header icon turns green when the note is up to date.

Troubleshooting

It says there are no updates

Obsidian may not have fetched the newest list yet. Wait a few minutes and choose Check for updates again.

Will I lose what I wrote while it was paused?

No. Everything you typed is kept on the device and sent when syncing resumes.

  • Install the pluginInstall Nectenda from Obsidian's community plugins on your computer or phone, turn it on, and open its settings to sign in.
  • Sync status iconsWhat the Nectenda status icon and the marks beside notes in the file explorer mean, colour by colour, and what to do about each one.
  • Device limit reachedA device that does not fit your plan's device slots stops syncing that organisation. Free a slot or add this device, and syncing carries on.
