Device limit reached

A device that does not fit your plan's device slots stops syncing that organisation. Free a slot or add this device, and syncing carries on.

Each plan allows every person a number of devices. When a new computer or phone would go over that number, it is not added, and it does not sync that organisation. Its notes are safe — they stay on the device, and nothing is deleted.

Before you start

  • You will see the Nectenda icon in the note header in red, reading Device limit reached, and a notice naming the organisation.
  • Decide which device you no longer need, or whether to upgrade for more.

Steps

  1. On any device, open Settings, choose Nectenda, and open the organisation under Organisations.
  2. Under Plan, storage and devices, in the Devices list, find one you no longer use and choose Remove. Its slot is free at once.
  3. On the device that was refused, open the same organisation's page. Beside This device is not added here, choose Add this device.

Check the result

A notice says Added. This device now syncs this organisation. The header icon turns green once the notes have caught up.

Troubleshooting

What happens to the device I removed?

It keeps every note it has, as ordinary files. It simply stops syncing that organisation until it is added again.

Does a second vault on the same computer take another slot?

No. A device is the machine. Its vaults are listed under it.

I removed this device by mistake

Choose Add this device on the organisation's page. If all slots are in use again, free one first.
